Rob Penhallurick at Freie Universität Berlin

On 10 July 2019, Rob Penhallurick took two MA classes in sociolinguistics as a guest lecturer at the Freie Universität Berlin, speaking on the history of the study of English dialects and on Welsh English. Freie University has nearly 40,000 students and is one of 11 universities in Germany to have the status of ‘university of excellence’. Pictured below is the university’s Philological Library, designed by Norman Foster, which opened in 2005. Rob likes it a lot!
